Melanotan 2 (MT-II) is a synthetic melanocortin receptor agonist derived from α-MSH. In experimental systems it is used to probe MC1/MC3/MC4/MC5 signaling, melanogenesis and pigmentation pathways, and centrally mediated appetite and sexual function research models.
